# bar

> bar (clearthe.bar) is online judging software for BMX freestyle contests. Judges score on their phones from a QR code; bar works out averages, rankings and next-round start lists under UCI rules; riders and spectators follow results live. Free for categories of up to 8 riders. Made by Edgars Zakalovskis, a BMX freestyle judge from Latvia.

## Key facts
- Formats available now: UCI BMX Park and BMX Best Trick. More are switched on one by one, each after checking it against its rulebook. Organisers can also build their own format.
- Runs in any web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Nothing to install.
- Judges need no app and no account: each scans a personal QR code. Only organisers sign up (free).
- Two ways to score: every judge on their own phone, or the head judge enters all marks in one grid.
- Works with weak signal: marks wait on the judge's phone and are sent when the connection is back.
- Results live as runs are scored, or held back until the head judge releases the round.
- UCI BMX: judges score 0–99.99, averages truncated to two decimals, ties to the judges' decision, heats and rounds by number of entries (UCI 6bis), heat approval and logged corrections.
- Results sheet, PDF, CSV and Excel export, printable judge sheets, judge analysis.
- Data stored in the EU, backed up nightly, encrypted. Results private, by link, or public on the organiser's page.
- Not an official UCI product and not affiliated with any federation.

- Free: every feature for categories of up to 8 riders.
- Licences for bigger categories: single contest, 1 year one discipline, 1 year all disciplines. Sold to organisations, paid by invoice, price on request.
